Dream, what a wonderful theme.
I would start with thinking about "dream" word associations. Here are a few:

* MOON
* SLEEP
* NIGHT
* BED

Next step would be to find place cards with designs relevant to the above mentioned word associations.

Are you familiar with party topics conversation place cards? They can be good as ice breakers and they can make your guests talk about the theme of your party. Here are a few of questions I thought of:

* What's the most beautiful dream you've ever dreamt?
* What was your worse nightmare?
* Do you have trouble remembering your dreams?
* Do you have the same dream over and over?
* Can you control your dreams?
* Have you had a dreams that predicted the future?

Something with a cloud. Or if you really wanted to get crazy, have plates in the shape of clouds with the Sandman's bag of sand on the plate with goodies inside.
