This week is the Holocaust Memorial Day. I know here we speak about simchas only, bit this day is very important for me and I feel I have to say something.
Last year I was in Israel on the Holocaust Memorial Day. The experience was very strong.
Air-raid sirens were sounded for two minutes on that morning all around the country. I was in city center Tel Aviv, and you could see everyone stopping to honor the moment. All vehicles, including public transport, came to a standstill for this period. People stopped and stood silent. I never felt so strong the meaning and importance of the Holocaust Memorial Day.
To remember and never forget.

Hi Doc,
Thank you for sharing. I heard from friends how strong Holocaust Day in Israel is. It is important to remember all victims of the persecution. It is a good time to reflect also upon those affected by more recent atrocities.
