Spice the candle lighting ceremony 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Hi, congrats on the forum!
My question has to do with the candle lighting ceremony. We are preparing the list of candle lighters. We’re afraid it is going to be boring. Any ideas about how to put some spice and fun in the ceremony?
Cheers!

The candle lighting ceremony always works for me. When you are a member of the family, it is even more touching!

Variations on the ceremony are always fun. I remember a very special ceremony. The BM girl had a very pretty voice and liked singing. She sang each of the candles, it was so amazing! Not the full song of course, just a few lines, and then the DJ added sounds of the same songs from the CD player, it was amazing!
Other ideas, guys and gals?

Sometimes it is nice to have a poem for each person who is going to light a candle. I went to a bar mitzvah two months ago and the boy did it there. It really keeps the guests’ attention. Good luck!

Hi Jill, welcome!
Our grandfather is a lawyer that came to the USA from Brazil. He married grandma Gita when he was 23. Can you help with some rhyming?

My grandfather is a lawyer, of this we are sure
From Brazil he came and hard times did endure
But things got better as anyone can see
He married Grandma Gita when he was 23
If you would join me, it really would be heaven
Please come up to light this candle number seven

What do you think? Though Grandpa would be closer to the end of the lighting ceremony in all likelihood.... maybe eleven is more appropriate. Thanks for the warm welcome.
