A song for the "parents" candle 5 Months ago
Hi all!

We're looking for a "parents" candle song for my son's candle lighting ceremony. I would love to hear about experiences and choices of other people. Which song did you play on your mitzvah's parents candle? How did it go?

We will be holding the traditional Bar Mitzvah candle lighting ceremony, and my son allows each of the honorees to choose their own song. Isn't it a good idea? So I am trying to choose a song for my candle (the "parents" candle). I saw several song suggestions on the web, but I would love to hear from you and about your experiences.

Thank you!

Mosh

I remember being to a mitzvah party with "Love and Marriage" as the parents candle song. You know, it is the song from the "Married… with Children" television series.

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You cant have one without the other

It has a good beat and makes everyone smile

Mosh, I love your son's idea about letting each of the honorees to choose their own candle song. What a beautiful thought!

We have a parents candle songs list, have you checked it? Let us know if you have any other song ideas to add to the list, ok?

My favorite is Tina Turner's "The Best"

QUOTE:
You're simply the best, better than all the rest
Better than anyone, anyone I've ever met

We perform exclusively at Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and have seen it all.
Simply the Best" is fine, but make sure the DJ knows to cue up the song to the chorus part since unlike most songs, this song does not play the chorus until much further into the song so if it is not cued up no one will recognize the song.
