Gifts Ideas - Books
Written by Doctor Simcha

Books Tips

  • How about a book as a gift, with a personal inscription?

  • The book doesn't necessarily need to have a Jewish theme. If you are afraid that such Judaic book will remain on a shelf, get a book in any subject that the BM likes.

  • "Please...not that!". That was the Doc's grandson's reaction when the idea of buying books to his Bar Mitzvah came to his ears. Make sure the child enjoys reading before buying a book.

  • Here is a fun idea for a kid who dislikes reading, but loves the iPod. Audio books! Check audio books at Audible, Booksfree.com audio books and Simply Audiobooks (the lest shop has a Judaism section).

  • Does the BM child really love books? Give him a book store gift certificate. The Amazon.com gift certificate always works.

  • A subscription to popular magazine is another good idea. Check Magazania and MagazineCity for magazine subscription promotions.

Books with a Jewish Theme

  • A book about Jewish and Israeli history, culture or prayer is a great choice for a B-Mitzvah gift. Here are a few ideas:
