How many invitations to order?
Written by Doctor Simcha
  • To calculate the number of invitations to order, count one invitation for each of the following:

    • couple (married or living together);

    • each child 18 years old or older;

    • single guest;

    • fiancée / fiancé of a guest (Dr. Simcha can get a little conservative!).

      For example, in a house with happily married parents and five children (12, 16, 19, 21 and 22 years old), four invitations would be sent. One would be sent to the parents with the name of the 16 and the 12 years old on the line below the parents’ names, plus one to each of the four children above 18 .

  • Order a few more invitations than you think you'll need. Double-check the count. It is advisable to order an extra 25. Here are a few good reasons:

    • It will permit you to add some guests to your list at the last minute, if necessary.

    • Have 10-12 extra invitations for keepsakes.

    • 25 invitations ordered now is much less than when ordered later. Reorders later can be costly!
